She is an E-RYT 500 hour Certified Teacher with Yoga Alliance, a Mat Pilates Instructor, a Traditional Thai Masseuse, and has also worked as a whitewater rafting river guide for 12 years before she decided to focus more on Powder Yoga. Sharing her love for yoga, health, wellness, travel, pilates, sport, and the great outdoors is her ultimate passion.

March 16th – April 10th 2021
NISEKO, HOKKAIDO, JAPAN
Dubbed the “Aspen of Japan”, Niseko is an up-and-coming hotspot, home to some of the best ski slopes in the world. It is known as one of the snowiest resorts on the planet, and has been credited as the #1 Ski Resort in Asia. The resort includes a bustling village at its base with lively nightlife and shopping, but is most famous for its highly coveted “champagne powder” – snow that is very light, dry, and smooth, arguably the best for skiing.
Along with your yoga studies, you will have plenty of time to take advantage of the things that make Niseko special: the natural hotsprings (or onsen in Japanese), Japan’s world-famous cuisine, and the opportunity to connect with the potent energy from the active neighbourhood volcano Mt. Yotei. The soothing onsens are recognized for their purifying health benefits, and students are encouraged to use them as often as possible! There are many to choose from in the area
During the course you will call the cozy and friendly Powder Yoga studio your home! It is located right at the base of the Niseko United Ski Resort, footsteps away from the main resort of Hirafu. Your rest days during the course will be flexible, and Kanami will make sure to keep track of the weather, and schedule in your days off whenever there are powder days. There will also be many opportunities to take what you learn in the classroom, and transfer them out it into the world and your daily life in Niseko.

200 HOURS OF YOGA
THE TRAINING
Our comprehensive 200-Hour Teacher Training Program will transform your practice, pass on the ancient teachings of yoga, and give you all the tools required to teach a solid Hatha, Power, and Flow yoga class. Our curriculum is Yoga Alliance approved, and upon graduation you are eligible to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the largest international nonprofit association representing the yoga community. You will also have an incredibly supportive community to help you on your journey, and you will gain lifelong friends during the course who will continue to support you for years to come.
TEACHING ASANA
The principles of teaching, cueing, assisting, demonstrating, theming, sequencing, and how to put together a well-rounded and thoughtful Hatha, Flow, and Power Vinyasa class. Learn hundreds of poses in both their English and Sanskrit names, and the foundations of each pose from the ground up.
WESTERN & YOGIC ANATOMY
Learn the western anatomy of bones, joints, connective tissue, muscles, breathing, nervous and circulatory systems, injuries, and as well as basic prenatal yoga. You will also learn the energetic effects of yoga on the body, and will study PRANA in detail. What it is, the different techniques that direct prana, Kundalini energy and its infinite potential, the chakra systems, bandhas, Ayurveda, the vayus, and the nadis.
MEDITATION & PRANAYAMA
Practice different styles and techniques of meditation and pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) everyday. Develop a deep understanding and connection with both so you can easily share their immense benefits with your students.
HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY OF YOGA
Study Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and how these teachings provide a very real model that can be applied to daily life. You will also get to discuss and learn in detail about Yoga’s journey to the West, and the most influential yogis of our time.
THE BUSINESS OF YOGA
Discuss the ethics of yoga, code of conduct, and important qualities of a successful teacher. Learn about the business of yoga, defining your mission, marketing yourself, and setting your goals and dreams.
PRACTICE TEACHING
The fastest way to becoming a great yoga teacher is practice, practice, and more practice. Students will be given plenty of classroom time to plan many styles of classes: from a challenging, fast-paced Power practice, to a super mellow, relaxing yin stretch-out, and everything in between. Emphasis will be made to try different classes out on each as often as possible during and after the course. This is a great opportunity to receive feedback, get creative, and learn from one another.
